A l'âge de 24 ans, Tim Pope commence à faire des vidéoclips pour des groupes pop. Depuis, en dix ans, il a ainsi travaillé avec David Bowie, Paul MacCartney, Neil Young... En 1987, il réalise sa première publicité. Il tourne aussi des séries pour Channel 4 en 1988. Il prépare actuellement son premier long métrage.
