Jonathan Glazer was born in 1966, and began his career as a theatre director, trailer editor and music video director. He has made music videos for Massive Attack, Nick Cave and Blur, and won several awards for his work with Radiohead and Jamiroquai. His first feature film, Sexy Beast (2000), was a gangster film. He asked Jean-Claude Carrière to help him write Birth (2004), a melodrama starring Nicole Kidman. In 2013, he made Under the Skin, with Scarlett Johansson, confirming him as one of the most singular filmmakers of his generation. The Zone of Interest (2023), freely adapted from a novel by Martin Amis, won the Grand Prix and the Fipresci Prize at the last Cannes Film Festival.
