Mauricette Nogood works as a docker at the French Guiana port of Degrad des Cannes. The rest of the time, she is a slam poet. She haas always felt insecure about her last name, which was imposed onto her ancestors at the end of slavery. Now she is fighting to change her family name, struggling against the inefficiency of French bureaucracy. It is time for her to announce her new name to her close circle.
Adiel Goliot
Screenwriter, director, and graduate from the European Audiovisual Screenwriting Conservatory, Adiel directed his first short film Bonnarien (Nogood) in 2022. He is also a poet, exploring identity and self-confidence issues with his own aesthetic definition of a musical. During the writing process, he became aware of his transgender identity and went through an uphill medical and administrative battle to transform his gender to be himself. Winner of the French Slam Championship in 2020, and semi-finalist of the Slam World Championship in 2021, he leads now writing and slam workshops in prisons and schools. He is currently developing a new short film about the prison world with Post-genres productions. Bonnarien won the audience award for the short film screenplay readings at Premiers Plans in 2021.
