Presentation of the Ateliers d'Angers

Since 2022, the Ateliers d'Angers have been held during the Premiers Plans Festival.

Founded by Jeanne Moreau and the Premiers Plans Festival in July 2005, the Angers Workshops are intended for young French-speaking filmmakers who have made one or more short films and are preparing to make their first feature film.

With the help of experienced professionals, the filmmakers have 7 days to perfect their artistic project through practical lessons related to the financial and technical conditions of first films. The focus is on scriptwriting, directing, editing, directing actors, production or music, depending on the profile of the participants.

Eligibility requirements

The Angers Workshops are held entirely in French. The following may apply for the Workshops:

  • Have already made one or more short films
  • Have a project for a first feature-length fiction film (complete screenplay)
  • The project must be produced or co-produced with France, Belgium, Switzerland or Quebec
  • Be French-speaking (the Workshops are held entirely in French)
