Zak is living in a village in southern France. He has a quiet life, with his wife and his two kids. When he learns about his father's death in Algeria, he decides to go there with his family. Sarah, his daughter, refuses to come with him.

At 18, she moved to Paris to study French literature at the Sorbonne University. She then got into La fémis, the French National Film School, in directing. Mkobbi Fi Kobba, her graduate short film, won the Jury prize in students films category in Premiers Plans in 2012. She just completed Zakaria, a short film shot in the south of France. She is currently preparing her first feature film God protect my daughter.
