Born in Zürich in 1974, Rafael Sommerhalder studied at the Ecole Cantonnale d'Art de Lausanne, where he graduated from the direction department in 2000. He went to work as a freelance before joining the Royal College of Art where he started studying again and made, among others, Wolves and Flowerpot, both of which are presented in the "Plans Animés".
