In Ireland, at a time of superstition and magic, Robyn, a young girl of 11, helps her father hunt the last pack of wolves. But one day, during a hunt in the forest, Robyn meets Mebh, a little girl by day and a wolf by night. Now that Robyn has joined the wolfwalkers, the threat is no longer from wolves, but from humans!

After The Secret of Kells (2009) and Song of the Sea (2014), Irish director Tomm Moore, in collaboration with animator Ross Stewart, once again draws on Celtic mythology to place the figure of the female wolf, the totemic embodiment of a matrilineal natural order, at the centre of an ecological and liberating fable. In addition to the typically Anglo-Saxon narrative efficiency that lends an epic, dynamic aspect to this coming-of-age story, the 2D digital animation is incredibly inventive and richly ornamented, the essence of European know-how in the field.
