Mónica Lima was born in 1981 in Lisbon, Portugal. She initially studied Visual Arts and Painting in Lisbon. After graduating she presented her art works in several public art exhibitions, increasingly using video as her medium. In 2009 she moved to Berlin to assist filmmaker Filipa César for one year, during which she applied for the German Film and Television Academy where she is currently studying directing
