Vincenzo Marra was born in Naples in 1972. After studying law, he became a sports photographer. He made and produced his first short film, Una rosa prego, in 1998. In 1997 he worked as Mario Martone's assistant on the film Teatri di guerra as well as in the theatre, and was March Bechis' assistant on Garage Olimpo (1998). After the critical success of Tornando a casa (screened at Angers in 2002), he made a documnetary about the Naples' socceer-club fans, Esranei alla massa (2001), then Paessagio a sud, screened at last year's Venice Film Festival. Vento de terra is his second feature film.
