Aksel Hennie

David, a twentyfive-year-old man from the Oslo inner-city, has few prospects for the future. He spends his days hanging around with petty criminals at an inner-city gym, but it's better than home. His father is terminally ill, his brother is mentally handicapped, and he's unable to connect with his mother. As his father is on his deathbed, the gym is raided by police. David betrays his friends in hopes hope of seeing his father one last time.. But he's too late. With his father dead and his mother grief-stricken, he must now look after his brotherwhile fighting off his former underworld friends...

Aksel Hennie was born 1975. He studied acting and graduated from Teaterhøgskolen (the School of Visual Arts) in 2001. He acted at the "Teatret Vårt" in Molde from 2001-2002 then performed at the "Oslo Nye Teater" in the fall of 2002 and was chosen "Theater Talent of 2001" by Dagbladet. He played the lead role in the short film Fast Forward, by Morten Tyldum was cast in the short film Cash by Jens Lien and again played the leading role in Anolit, a short by Stefan Faldbakken. He acted in three Norwegian feature films in 2003: Jens Lien's Jonny Vang, Peder Norlund's Wolf Summer and Morten Tyldum's Buddy. In 2004, he appeared in Hawaii, Oslo by Erik Poppe and A Cry in the Wood by Erich Hörtnagel. Uno is his first feature film as a director.
