Sofia Kampmark was born in Copenhagen in 1988. She was living in Tokyo at the time of the earthquake and tsunami of March 2011. When she returned to Denmark in July 2011 she went to The Animation Workshop in Viborg, where she graduated in CGI arts. Her graduation film, Tsunami, is inspired by the 2011 catastrophe.
