Andrzej Jakimowski
Six-year old Stefek believes that using magic he is able to get closer to his father who abandoned his mother. His sister Elka, who is seventeen, helps him "bribe" fate with small offers. Eventually, some comic events and some touching ones bring the father back to his ex-wife...

Andrzej Jakimowski was born in 1963 in Warsaw. After studying philosophy in his native city he went to film school in Katowice. His first feature, Squint Your Eyes (Zmruz Oczy), won many awards, particularly at the festivals of San Francisco, Sochi and Gdynia, as well as four Golden Eagles, the Polish national film awards. Sztuczki is his second feature. The film won the Europa Cinema label for best European film and two awards at the festivals of Venice and Gdynia.
