Erik Lamens was born in 1965 in Belgium. From 1989 to 1994, he studied at the film school of Saint Lukas in Brussels where he made several short films including "Het Beelo" (1990), "Vacation" (1993) or "Yellow Paint" (1994). "To Speak" is his first post-graduation film.
