Fabrizio Bentivoglio was born in Milan, Italy in 1957. He leavest medical school to attend the school of Dramatic Art at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. His theatrical debut was in 1978, with a part in a Shakespearean play directed by Carlo Rivolta. He won the Coppa Volpi in Venice in 1993 for his role in "Un anima divisa in due", by Silvio Soldini. "Tipota" is his directorial debut.
