Christoph Hochhäusler was born in Munich in 1972. After studying architecture in Berlin, he worked as a tour guide, illustrator and story-boarder. He resumed his studies in 1993 and entered the School of Film and Television (HFF) in Munich. He threw himself into the world of cinema and made 5 short films: Erste Life (1995), Nachtschatten (1996), Fieber (1999), Flirt (2000) and Puls (2001). He also created and co-publishes the cinema magazine Revolver. Milchwald is his first feature film.
