Thru the wire, Those were the days and These boots are all films featuring the Leningrad Cowboys. The films are not based on the band playing any one particular song, but are narratives in which the characters are played by the band members. "The films are actually 5 to 6 minute-long music videos filmed with the Leningrad Cowboys. I think of them as simple short-films, but people take them seriously and show them at film festivals. They're inspired by ideas that aren't sufficient to make feature-length films, but that I need to get out of my head. (A. Kaurismäki)
