After his military service, Özgür Anil studied Film Studies and Philosophy at the University of Vienna. In 2014 he was accepted as one of four students in the directing class of Michael Haneke at the Filmakademie Wien where he directs Morgenmensch among others. He is also working as a journalist and film critic for Kurier and film.at.
