Those who experienced this poetic film on its release will remember it as a challenge to American cartoons, and also one of the first adult animation films of the time. Representing humans as being reduced to the level of pets of the gigantis Draags, Laloux shows us a reflection on intelligence, society, politics and finally on the very nature of humanity.
