Annechien Strouven, born in 1993, is a Belgian artist, designer, animator and filmmaker. She studied audiovisual arts and animation at KASK Gent and MAD-Faculty Genk. In her work she creates her own dreamlike atmospheres and
fascinating fictional worlds. Her illustrations and animations are mainly based on her own life experiences, but with a touch of the absurd. As an animator, she has worked on the international animated features The Siren and Flavours of Iraq, as well as numerous short films such as Spin & Ella, Mozaiek (Mosaic) and Carousel.
