At 4 o'clock in the morning, on April 9th 1989, the Soviet troops violently quelled a peaceful demonstration in Tbilisi (Georgia). Twenty-two innocent lives fell victim to this atrocious act. Aprilis Suskhi tells the story of the awakening of human instinct in a Soviet military service man, thanks to a young Georgian dancer.

Tornike Bziava is a Georgian director and actor born in 1980. He first attends acting classes at the University of Theatre and Film of Georgia. In 2003 he graduates in directing and achieves three experimental films, for which he would receive several awards in Georgia. The year after he goes to the Tisch School of the Arts in New York, where he works on different short film projects, from directing to acting. Back to Europe in 2005, he spends one year formation in Warsaw at the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing, and directs his first short movie, Aprilis Suskhi, in 2009.
