At two year of age, Piotr Kielar is abandonned by his father, an astrophysician gone to Canada. He keeps up a long distance correspondence with him which ends with their reunion, twenty years later.

Born in Warsaw in 1968, Piotr Kielar first attended the theatre academy. He then entered the National Cinema, Television and Theatre School in Lodz in 1993. "Tata z Ameryki" is his third documentary.
