Andreas Samland was born in 1974 in Oelde, Germany. After graduating from high school, he worked as a 3D-artist for several video game manufacturers in Darmstadt, Manchester and Hamburg. Since 1999, he has been studying at the German Film and Television Academy (Dffb) in Berlin, where he has made three films, Der neue hit (2000), Red gourmet pellzik (2001), then Tag 26.
