Strawberry fields and beyond is set during the Greek Civil War (1946-1949). The film observes and presents the reality of the era: this is how people lived and died, totally unaware of the reasons and the causes that made them live and die in such a way.

Anastas Charalampidis was born in 1975 in Leningrad and has lived in Greece since 1985. He studied directing at the VGIK film school in Moscow where he shot Don't miss the killer, presented at Angers in 2001. Selected by the Cinéfondation, the subsequent residency period in Paris enabled him to accomplish Pera apo tis fraoules his first film since graduating.
