It is a gloomy Sunday in the small flat where 14-year-old Emma lives with her mother Hélène. Full of rejection and resentment towards Hélène, Emma projects the image of the ideal mother onto her other mother, who lives far away and whom she sees very little of. But an argument with Hélène forces Emma to question her convictions, in a world where there seem to be as many realities as there are individuals...

Violette Delvoye studied animation in France and Norway before finishing her studies at la Cambre in Brussels. She made several student shorts, finishing with her graduation film Projection sur canapé (Projection on Sofa) in 2016. In 2017, she and Chloé Alliez created World in Stop-Motion, a travelling and participative animated series. In 2021 they directed together Les Liaisons foireuses (Inglorious Liaisons), a comedy in stop-motion which has had a great career in festivals worldwide (including Annecy and Sundance). Then Violette directed a 2D animation film, Sous ma fenêtre, la boue (The Mud Outside My Window), which she finished in 2024. When she is not directing films, Violette works as a technician in 2D and stop-motion
