This afternoon, Noa is eager to help prepare the family meals. With the help of an adult, her untrained hands work through the steps of the Caribbean recipes. Noa is going back to her roots and, in the heaps of cut vegetables, she imagines landscapes that remind her of her native island of Guadeloupe. Then, alongside these hands, young and old, peeling and mixing the vegetables, many more hands join in... and several generations come together…

Born in 1998, Cléane Ambry is a French director and set designer of stop-motion animation films. She studied animation at EMCA in Angoulême, during which time she co-directed the short film Pediluve, followed by her graduation film Achlu, both made in stop motion. After graduating in 2022, she worked as a set designer on the stop motion feature Sauvages ! (Savages) by Claude Barras. She then joined the Première Page collection, with the aim of promoting literature from the West Indies.
