Alejandra Rojo
Mum, an old Latin-American refugee with a shady past, runs a manicure salon with the help of her two daughters: the blond Madeleine and brown-haired Alejandra. In the back room, Mum teaches a few bewildered young girls her "revolutionary" conception of the profession...

Born in Argentina, Alejandra Rojo obtained a bachelors degree in film in Paris before directing several documentaries on Super 8 for les Ateliers Varan, then on video for television, and finally on 16 mm for the show "Strip-tease." She tackled fiction with her first short film, "Une nouvelle douceur", in 1996, a film given awards at numerous festivals. "Soins et beauté" is her first medium-length film.
