Carine May was born on 19 August 1978 in Paris. After growing up in Aubervilliers, she went to study journalism, and then documentary filmmaking. She still lives in Aubervilliers. After running radio and newspaper workshops with young people, she decided to move into scriptwriting and wrote her first screenplays. She is inspired by her town and their day-to-day lives of its inhabitants. For her Rue des cités is the first baby of a collective adventure.Hakim Zouhani was born on 25 July 1978 in Aubervilliers, where he currently lives. After various technical positions on shoots, he ran video workshops for young people from underprivileged areas. He loves transmission. For a long time he has had a passion for telling stories. His first foray is Rue des cités, for which he has also decided to work as producer. "We both grew up on the Rue des Cités, in Aubervilliers. We have both hung out in the streets and wanted to talk about our town and its children, be they big or small. Making this film was above all the wish to talk about outskirts, territories, and the people who live there. The adventure lasted for four years, driven forward by a collective and passionate imitation... Rue des cités is the story of our lives and those of our peers".
