Born in Paris in 1985, Florentine Grelier studied for a literary baccalaureate before studying animated film at the Institut Sainte-Geneviève in Paris. While she was there she discovered a pronounced liking for working with objects and stop motion animation, that she experienced while working on various exercises. She graduated in 2006 with her film On m'a fait la haine, she continued studying directing a the University of Paris VIII where she started directing he short film Ru, which she completed in a professional context.
