Rosie
Patrice Toye

Locked in a detention centre, Rosie, thirteen, remembers her childhood. Her mother, whom she adores is rarely around. She never knew her father and her uncle takes up too much space. She puts down her thoughts in letters she sends to her only friend called Jimi. He is her Prince Charming, her double, a kindred soul. In Rosie's life, adults are liars, elusive and cowards. So, more and more, Rosie finds refuge in another world, more beautiful and simple. All this tells us that she uses her imagination to flee from a nagging truth. Little by little, the signification of each detail of her story is revealed, leading to the terrible secret which is the reason for her detention.
