Retiens la nuit
Simon Depardon, Baptiste Drouillac et Arthur Verret

Following Johnny Hallyday's death in December 2017, thousands of bereft fans felt the need to come together to support their idol. On their request, the Church of La Madeleine opened its doors and every 9th of the month a mass is said for the late singer.

Simon Depardon, Baptiste Drouillac and Arthur Verret met at Church of La Madeleine to make their first film. With a camera, a boom and a mike, the three friends followed the fans Johnny Hallyday who organise a musical tribute to the “idol of the young” every month.
The film is a reflection of its three directors. Simon Depardon, a young documentary film producer, worked with Arthur Verret and Baptiste Drouillac, fresh out of the conservatoire national d'art dramatique, to make their film in total immersion with Johnny's fans.
