Grégoire Sivan made several short films while he was a student at La fémis, including La Femme de l'agriculteur (1999), Alice (2000), and an animated film, On enlève bien les claps. He made the trailer for the Premiers Plans festival in 2003, and his short La Méthode Bourchnikov was selected in the competition the following year, winning the Prix du Public.
