Happy days are here again for Peter, who's just out of prison. Returning to his hometown, he finds his sister has become the proud (but surrogate) mother of a baby boy. There's just one problem: the wild Maja is the real mother of the child and wants him back. Peter soon falls in love with Maja and is torn between her and his manipulative sister while tensions between the two women reach a peak...

Born in 1975 Kornél Mundruczo graduated from the Univerity of Dramatic Arts and Film Direction in Hungary. He has made several short films including Afta, his graduation film, selected at Angers in 2002, as well as Jeanne d'Arc du bus de nuit (2003), presented at la Quinzaine des réalisateurs. Szép Napok was awarded the Léopard d'Argent at the Locarno Film Festival despite the director's dissatifaction with the version presented. After shooting several extra scenes and re-editing the film, Kornel Mundruczo presents here, the difinitive version of his first feature film.
