"It's very simple. For the first time in my career, I was totally free to do my work without keeping an eye on the clock! Godard is a very private person, rather secretive. His manner of working with you is friendly without being over-expressive or talkative. And after all he doesn't need to confer very much with the composer. The images themselves call for a certain kind of music. In this way, Pierrot le Fou provided me with impressions that I immediately put onto paper." (Antoine Duhamel)
