Francesco Lagi was born in Florence in 1977. He studied directing at the Scuola Nazionale di Cinema in Rome. He has made several short films that have won awards at national and international festivals alike: Smack! (1998), Il mio regno per un sollazzo (1998), Dialogo di un filosofo e di un uomo grasso (1999), Severo (2000). Passatempo, his gradation film, was selected in the short film category at the 2004 Venice Film Festival
