Joséphine Jouannais was born in Paris. After studying literature, she graduated from INSAS (Institut national supérieur des arts du spectacle) in Brussels in the directing section. She directed a first short documentary in Palermo in 2018, and continues her work on this territory with Palermo Sole Nero.
