Omarska
Varun Sasindran

In this film, the director enters into conversation with the survivors of the Omarska concentration camp in Prijedor (Bosnia-Herzegovina). The film begins with the recollection of their memories and eventually touches on the present situation of the former camp.

Varun Sasindran is 32 and was born and raised in Kerala, India. He graduated in Electronics and Communication engineering, during 2008. After his studies, he worked as a software engineer for four years. In 2012, he decided to quit his job and study film. He was mainly inspired by the films he had seen in the international film festivals he attended during his course. He pursued his further studies in Visual media Studies from Calicut University. And then he joined for the M. A. at the Sarajevo Film Academy followed by the research at Le Fresnoy, where he received a full scholarship from Institut français. Omarska is his graduation film.
