North
Rune Denstad Langlo
Jomar Henriksen, a former professional skier, is employed to work on the slopes. But he doesn't want to know anything about skiing anymore and neglects the tasks he has been given. He spends his time smoking, drinking, and especially doing nothing. One day, an old friend turns up and tells him he is the father of a child living with his mother in the North of the country: it's now or never if he wants to turn his back on this empty existence. A journey begins on a snow scooter, punctuated by crazy encounters and unexpected adventures.

Born on 16 April 1972 in Trondheim, Norway, Rune Denstad Langlo has worked since 1998 as a producer for Motlys A/S, one of the leading Scandinavian production companies. In 2005, he made a first documentary for the centenary of Norway Alt for Norge, of which two versions exist: one for the cinema and one for TV in 12 episodes. In 2008, he was interested in the hip hop group Forente Minoriteter (Minorities United) in his documentary 99% Ærlig. His sense of narrative, which he uses through a warm and original approach to characters, finds its best expression in Nord, his first fiction feature."In 2005 I underwent a bout of depressions which caused me a lot of anguish and some panic crises. One day, I passed by the old ski lift I used to take when I was a child. I stood there remembering all the strange people who worked there at the time. They were always exhausted, in a bad mood and you could smell the alcohol on their breath. It was exactly then that the character of Jomar was born".
