Slowly, with infinite caution, I'm rubbing a piece of ice on the tip of her forefinger. I stop when she moves in her sleep. And I repeat it again. Until the tip of her finger becomes white. With a razor blade, I make a very little incision. A dash of blood bleeds immediately. I bend the head and lap the blood as one would lap from a tap.

Antoine Barraud is a screenwriter and script doctor. He was a consultant on Philippe Haïm's features. His first short, Monstre, was shown in Angers in 2005. Since then he has made the films Déluge, Song and River of Anger. He is currently working on a new film which will be shot in Taiwan, France, Canada and the Great North, as well as on an adaptation of Euripides' "Medea".
