Born in 1982, Chen Chen graduated from the People's University of China with a degree in animation. After several years of work in several professions including graphic design, illustration, comic book design and animation, he decided to go to France to experience new methods of filmmaking in animation. He completed his studies at la Poudrière, the French animation direction school, where he directed La fin d'une histoire, then Un cadeau très,très spécial and M'échapper de son regard, his graduation film.
