One day in May, Muzaffer decides to make a film in his childhood village in Anatolia. Practically his whole family is there, and each family member has their own preoccupations. His father, Emin, determinedly fights off the confiscation by the local authorities of the forest and land which he always took care for. Muzaffer's cousin Saffet, twenty years-old and discouraged by his repeated failure to pass his college entrance exam, is obliged to work in the factory. Ali, Muzaffer's nine year-old nephew, dreams only of owning a musical watch. Muzaffer, who thinks single-mindedly of his film, hardly notices his relatives' problems. He finally convinces them to play in his film, but when he arrives with his film team, the real problems begin...
