It is summer. A very dry landscape under a dazzling sun. A child is alone on a farm. His parents are away for a few hours. Not far away a man escapes from a group of soldiers. He asks the child to hide him in exchange for a coin.

Eric Vuillard has published three books, Bois vert, Le chasseur and Tohu. He has already co-written with Philippe Goudrieux the screenplay of La Vie nouvelle. At forty he has made his first film Mateo Falcone.
