Marie Baie des Anges
Manuel Pradal

Orso is 15 years old. A pickpocket abord an overnight train to Italy, he dreams of owning a weapon. His hunting grounds are the rich villas overlooking the Bay, trains and isolated creeks. Goran is supposed to buy him one, but spends all the money and desappears. Orso, betrayed, goes back to his turbulent and idle life. Marie is 14 years old. The little queen of the bay, she twirls between local louts and marines on leaves. She dreams of the America she sees through the camp's fence. Sometimes arrogant, sometimes secretive, she want to enjoy all the pleasure of her fourteenth summer. Orso and Marie, lonely and hotheaded teenagers, share the same dreams of a larger-than-life world."Marie Baie des Anges" is inspired by the life stories of the young actors in the film, which the director researched over a year. They come from difficult inner-cities, reform schools and even prison. It is also a story solidly anchored in the south, with the gangster mythology of the Riviera.
