Simon's life-long love of animation led to him studying it at the Edinburgh College of Art before going on to write and co-direct the acclaimed stop motion short, The Astronomer's Sun. In 2013 Simon went to study at the National Film and Television School and it is there he began combining live-action puppetry and digital animation for his graduation film MANOMAN.
