A car crash in the Zimbabwean bush brings a chance encounter between two men who have never met on equal terms. Archie, the aging Scots farmer, needs to get his truck out of a ditch but help is not at hand. He demands assistance from Sekuru, an elder of the local village, but nothing can be done till daybreak. Sekuru feels obliged to offer Archie shelter.

Manu Kurewa is a Zimbabwean born filmmaker currently based in Scotland. He has just finished his studies at the National Film and Television School. "One sunday Morning", his second-year film won the jury's first price at Angers in 1997 and several other prizes at major festivals before being nominated for an Oscar for Best Student Film. "Mangwana" is his graduation film.
