Sam is a native from Amsterdam and in 2012 he graduated from the Dutch Film Academy. His graduation film Magnesium was critically acclaimed and awarded several prizes. Although he graduated as a fiction director he strongly sympathizes with the documentary genre. You can notice this affection in his graduation film Magnesium where documentary elements are used in a fictionalized setting. After graduating he directed a 50 minute tv documentary about "today's youth". This documentary is the foundation for his first feature film, which he is working on at the moment.
