Born in 1979, Cyprien Vial studied at la fémis in the directing department from 2003 to 2007. Dans le rang (2006) and L'Application des peines (2007), made as part of his studies, both received several awards (including the Directors' Fortnight for Dans le rang). He is currently working on his first fiction feature, Un été sous la neige.
