Even at the grand old age of 16, Lucia still has lice, has never had her period and remains the last virgin in her class. Her best friend wants to help her meet a boy, so that she can finally be a little more “normal”. But Lucia is stubborn. She wants to solve her problems by herself. Even if it means taking a steep path to adulthood.

Born in Costa-Rica in 1988, Valentina Maurel studied cinema at INSAS. In 2017, her final short film Paul est là received the first prize from Cinéfondation in Cannes before being selected for some twenty festivals. In 2019, she directed her first produced short film Lucia en el limbo. Valentina is currently writing her first feature film.
