Spela Cadez was born in 1977 in Ljubljana. From 1996 to 2002, she studied Communication Design at the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts. She continued with postgraduate studies at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, from 2002 to 2007. Her films include The story about the lost letter in 2001, Zasukanec in 2004, and Liebeskrank in 2007.
