“I found myself dealing with death at a very early age, so this is why children facing death is a topic that I had always wanted to explore. How much can a child be conscious of death? How does a kid deal with it? Can they misinterpret it? Adults usually think that children cannot understand death, and they use euphemisms to explain them what it is. But from personal experience, I believe they are really able to understand it, in their own way. Lipstick takes place in a kind of poetic world, where the viewers will enjoy watching the sweetness of the children playing until death creeps in and brings its darkness into the game, displeasing the audience with a mix of sweet and sour emotions."
