Les Gouffres
Antoine Barraud

Five gigantic sinkholes have recently been discovered on a remote plateau on the other side of the world. A team of experts has made the trip to descend into the depths. Among them is professor Georges Lebrun, who has come with his wife. Worried and tense, she soon finds herself overwhelmed by the nearness of the void.

"Visually the depths call on unprecedentedly rich imaginative worlds. Bosch's visions of Hell or the round, protective caves of the Italian Renaissance flooded with heavenly light, for example, in Girodet or the Pre-Raphaelites, the ambiances or vibrations vary greatly. The images excite the imagination and encourage mirages and visions. And then there is something constantly fascinating to see in a character venturing into the dark, moving to the entrails of the earth. Going to the depths of oneself as if on an expedition over the volcano" Antoine Barraud.
